Meet another new product in our Night Market Series, Wa Gui (pronounced as Wa-Guei, a savoury rice pudding with shiitake mushroom and pork ragu). It is a nostalgic snack commonly found in Tainan, a city with rich street food culture in the south of Taiwan.

台灣小吃– “碗粿” 是閩南、台灣的米食副產品。先民把稻米磨成漿,放在碗裡蒸煮,慢慢地便演變成了現在的“碗粿"。做為早餐或點心,順口好消化。碗粿黏度佳、口感好,配以香菇、絞肉、雞蛋、蘿蔔乾和蝦皮,經蒸炊後,香氣遠傳,再淋上調製的蒜味醬油膏,令人難以抗拒。
